The Greater Peoria Sanitary District, a special unit of local government, was formed in 1927 to collect and clean the domestic and industrial wastewater within GPSD's service area. Today, our mission is to facilitate the environmental and economic prosperity of Greater Peoria through the wastewater utility.
GPSD currently serves approximately 140,000 customers across an area of over 66 square miles from 716 miles of sewer. GPSD serves Peoria, Peoria Heights, Bartonville, West Peoria and Bellevue, plus adjacent unincorporated areas. An industrial area located near Mapleton is also served. |
