About the Executive Director
Brian Johnson is the Executive Director of the Greater Peoria Sanitary District. He is responsible for: (1) maintaining a level of service that meets expectations of approximately 145,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers; (2) long-term vision and management; (3) engagement of the District's workforce across four departments; (4) the annual $22m+ operating and capital budgets; (5) stakeholder and public interaction; and (6) compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Brian serves as co-chair of the Illinois Association of Wastewater Agency's Legislative Subcommittee, is a member of the Legislative Workgroup of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, is a member of Peoria-North Rotary, and is on the board of directors of the Illinois Central College Educational Foundation. He holds a Certificate in Corporate Sustainability from NYY Stern, a Certificate in Water Reclamation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan Cooley Law School, an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Quantic School of Business & Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in business computer systems from Bradley University. Brian has broad business, legal, government, and management experience, having previously served in private legal practice for over a decade. He is also a board member of a community bank, recently serving as its board chair, and an insurance company. |
